Angora Goats Clear Brush While Mohair Grows in Missouri Ozarks
Angora goats in Missouri's Ozarks prove useful for clearing overgrown land while producing mohair. Landowners rent goats for brush removal at 50 to 75 cents per animal per season, with nanny goats yielding 3 to 3.5 pounds of mohair and kids valued at 3 to 4 dollars each. Two years of browsing can destroy most underbrush, though overgrazing prompts some to rotate ranges to protect the stock.
