County official opposes variance over wastewater design
In a court session, Health Department official Walthers said Mince's wastewater proposal would exceed county standards, approving only designs for single family homes with professional input. The plan would deliver about 1600 gallons daily per acre, far above the 400 gallon per day limit, and was deemed not approved. Commissioner Payne moved to deny the variance unless Walthers supports it. Judge Etheredge urged earlier review to avoid costly projects.
