PEC opponents win battle over new powerline
In Wimberley area hearings, Administrative Law Judge Eva Andries urged PEC to study burying the final 400 to 500 feet of a proposed 12 mile 138000 volt line from Dripping Springs to the Wimberley substation. Petitions with 900 signatures circulated against the project citing health and aesthetic concerns. PEC may extend the PUC deadline as the feasibility study, to be led by Charlie Jasper of Esphey Houston Company, could take four to six weeks.
