County salary adjustments wrap to departmental budgets
County commissioners approved budget amendments to adjust salaries and benefit schedules for several Hays County employees. A Wage and Classification study by David Griffith and Associates, begun in 1992 at a $20,000 cost, informed the changes approved in February 1993. Implemented over months, the changes mostly offset raises with reductions in social security, retirement, or insurance contributions, keeping net funds unchanged. notable increases included the County Courts at Law departments head, County and Justice of the Peace Court Operations staff, and other offices. some staff saw modest raises while Court Reporter staff accepted pay and benefits cuts to boost insurance.
