Governor seeks halt to warbler critical habitat plan
Governor Ann Richards requests a thorough review and urges the U S Fish and Wildlife Service to abandon all plans for designating critical habitat for the golden cheeked warbler in 33 central Texas counties. Secretary Bruce Babbitt orders the service to cease work on the designation amid rural opposition and media uproar. The species has been listed as Endangered since 1990 and migrates from Texas to winter ranges in Mexico and Central and South America.

Bail Bond Board plan abandoned

17th Texas T Party brings Model T parade to San Marcos area
Over 100 antique Model T Fords arrived in Wimberley Friday en route to a San Marcos fish fry marking the Fish Hatchery centennial.
