Love of Wimberley fuels retiree's budget crusade
Keith Miles, a retired nuclear engineer and DoD veteran, investigated Wimberley ISD finances after noticing $650,000 had been misallocated. He confronted the school board, leading to the money being restored to the district budget. Miles, born in Hamlin and educated at UH, TCU, Stanford, and UC Berkeley, moved to Wimberley three years ago and embraces retirement as time to pursue interests, guide visitors, and promote his Texan homeland.
