In Hays County Texas a Republican wave reshaped precinct races as O H Rippy lost to Russ Molenaar for Precinct 4 Commissioner and Evelyn Poston fell to Rex Baker for Precinct 4 Justice. County Judge Eddy Etheredge narrowly held his seat amid strong opposition totals. Other races showed tight margins with Barton facing Pam Jones and Donnelly defeating Greg Shaver. Tuttle and Stowe won clear party wins in county offices.
