Voters approve Wimberley high school bond on second try
Voters in Wimberley ISD narrowly pass a 5.875 million high school bond after rejecting a similar proposal in January. Final tally 1,167 yes (55 percent) to 936 no (45 percent) with strong early voting support and turnout. Superintendent Newsom and district leaders celebrated the result amid community optimism.

Woodcreek to Welcome Time Warner Cable Franchise Buildout
The transfer of local cable franchises in North Hays County from Galaxy and TCI Cable to Time Warner is complete. Time Warner will assume management in about a month, with no immediate programming changes for subscribers. Rural systems may gain new programming as the Austin Cablevision customer base grows. Hays County Commissioners Court members were told a printing error has delayed the new county map by up to six weeks. County Administrator Patsy Greiner said 2,000 copies of the map were affected and the pages were incomplete. See Printing on page 11.
