WISD to push bond renewal for September vote on new high school
Wimberley Independent School District trustees backed another attempt to finance a new high school with a September election. Superintendent Vernon Newsom outlined revised cost estimates, now near seven million dollars for the campus alone, and discussed timing to allow changes and public information sharing ahead of a possible 1996 occupancy. Multiple board members urged compromise to avoid extravagances and noted earlier windows for favorable rates have passed. Newsom said property searches for a suitable campus site continue.
