Habitat Family Named First Habitat Home Recipient in Wimberley Valley
The Habitat for Humanity selection committee chose the Melvin Blake family as the first recipients of a house in the Wimberley Valley. The Blakes, residents of the area for almost three years and members of the Lutheran Church of the Resurrection, include Bryan Blake, a disabled Vietnam veteran and Southwest Texas State University student, and his eight year old daughter. The project kickoff includes a call for community donations of money, labor, and materials, with construction planned to begin around July 20 pending utility connections.
