Josie the EMS wonder dog to perform safety show
Josie the EMS wonder dog, a half Labrador retriever, half English pointer, will star in a safety program at the Wimberley Health Fair on February 13. Owner Jennifer Ruiz, EMS office manager and EMT, trains Josie with 70 commands to demonstrate fire safety actions like stop drop and roll and crawling low under smoke, using praise and tug-of-war rather than treats.

Austin meets with county and city leaders over ETJ
Hays County Judge Eddy Etheredge and Precinct 2 Commissioner Jeff Barton led a meeting with Austin officials in Buda to discuss Austin extraterritorial jurisdiction ETJ. The closed session followed hiring Medina and Coyle to represent Hays County in seeking to move ETJ back toward the Hays Travis line.
