Turning point story spurs EMS drive in Hays County
In a 1973 accident involving 14 year old Charles Morrison, San Marcos EMS arrived late and the boy survived with severe injuries. His father’s response inspired a push to create a dedicated EMS system in North Hays County, leading to the 1976 start of North Hays County EMS based in Wimberley and expansion across five areas. Fundraising discussions were underway as officials consider future support.
