William R. Coleman Wimberley architect dies in Austin crash
William R. Coleman a longtime Wimberley resident and prominent architect developer and philanthropist died in an automobile accident in Austin on January 4 He directed the Wimberley Chamber of Commerce and Lions Club built many landmarks including Coleman’s Canyon Bed and Breakfast Heritage Park and Peachtree Park Born January 29 1928 in San Antonio he studied at the University of Texas was an active community leader and veteran Services were held January 7 at All Saints Episcopal Church followed by a graveside at Wimberley Cemetery Colleagues described him as harmonious with the land and a devoted husband father and grandfather Survivors include wife Sharon sons Lance Reed daughter Phyllis C French and ee William six grandchildren and other relatives.

Donations sought for Village Library Endowment Fund
Wimberley residents face closed doors at the Village Library as funding limits hours. An anonymous donor pledges 5000 dollars yearly for five years, prompting a tax deductible endowment appeal to finance extended hours and major improvements. The library, open since 1978, serves 2800 card holders with programs for children and tutoring, plus exhibits and lending services.

Wimberley Health Fair Sets February Date at High School
The 11th Annual Wimberley Health Fair, co sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce and the Wimberley Lions Club, will be at the high school on February 13 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Activities include cholesterol and eye testing, breast x rays, gynecologist exams, massage therapy, foot checks, health demonstrations, and blood donations by the Blood Bank.
