Wimberley’s Image and the Ghosts of the Land
Linda Allen reflects on Wimberley’s changing image and enduring origins as she recalls a San Marcos music store encounter over The Grand Canyon Suite. The piece traces regional contrasts with San Marcos and Austin, notes German County pasts, and highlights a rugged, independent Wimberley ethos shaped by droughts, cedar cutting, and a hard-working community history.
