Nine counts allege sexual offenses against Ford
Wayne Ford, Hays County Commissioner, was indicted on nine counts by a grand jury after a three month probe by the Hays County Sheriff Department San Marcos Police Texas Rangers and the Attorney General's Office. He denied all charges and said he would not resign. The indictments include five felonies centered on sexual assault of a child and indecency with a child and one misdemeanor oppression of a public servant. He posted a $50,000 bond as the case moves to trial. County Judge Eddy Etheredge described the situation as unfortunate and said there is no legal path to remove Ford before a guilty verdict. A critic at a Commissioner's Court meeting urged resignation. See FORD, Page 2.
