Twin Mountain Manor and the New Wimberley Era

Wimberley built a new civic fabric in the late 1960s with Twin Mountain Manor opening on May 10, 1967 under Pastor J B Young. The project, FHA funded, created 22 rental units for seniors and spurred a president’s ranch trail and robust civic groups including the Wimberley Woman's Club and Lions Club. The Chamber of Commerce pursued infrastructure and services, while the town gained national exposure from the scenic trail and a lasting sense of community development.
