City and property owners plan Oak Wilt ordinance
Woodcreek City Council considers a measure to curb Oak Wilt by granting city and the Woodcreek Property Owners Association power to remove diseased Red Oaks. Live Oaks would be spared as beetle-carried fungus spreads via Red Oak roots. Cost sharing proposed with 25 percent up to 50 dollars by the city and 50 percent up to 100 dollars by the WPOA. Two infected Red Oak sites noted near the golf course. Mayor Pool praises recycling efforts and a Texas commission commendation for Quentin Eyberg.
