DS firm contracted to coordinate GIS system
Hays County commissioners approved a 44 985 contract with Virtual Landscape Technology Inc to coordinate GIS efforts over 24 months. The vendor, Devon Humphrey, said the project could be done with existing equipment for under 1 000, excluding the coordination fee. The contract aims to launch the project using standards and to establish base data and procedures for ongoing GIS work.

New administrator loses son in rollover
Sherry Lynn Calloway aged 33, administrator at Deer Creek Nursing Center, and her four year old son William Thomas Calloway died after a one car crash on Highway 46 near Canyon Lake. The accident occurred around midnight when the 1991 Honda Civic swerved, struck a reflector pole and guardrail, then rolled over multiple wooden posts and landed on the guardrail. Calloway survived transport to University Hospital. her son was pronounced dead at the scene. The funeral was held in Gonzales Texas. The family had recently moved from Rockport after years in nursing home administration.
