C of C Meeting Set With Wimberley Chamber Tomorrow
The Wimberley Chamber of Commerce will hold a regular meeting Thursday night October 2 at the schoolhouse. A covered dish supper starts at 7:00 in the cafeteria. Program chairman announces a musical program with Harry Wayne singing, piano accompaniment by Dr Ralph Slarrell of SWTSU San Marcos. Everyone is invited.

The Wimberley PTA sponsors a Halloween Carnival on Friday October 31 at the school. William Walton Haupt, early Mountain City innovator, cross bred the blackberry with the dewberry to create the Haupt berry and developed fruit varieties and seed corn. He bred animals, held patents, and studied tree growth rings with Jacob Kuechler, influencing local science heritage near the Jack C. Hays High School site.
