Wimberley Water Supply Corp Begins Service to Eagle Rock Area
The Wimberley Water Supply Corporation started delivering water to Eagle Rock members in July 1966 and to others in December 1966. By March 9 1967 the system was completed and accepted from the contractor. The 19 mile distribution network serves over 220 members across 14 square miles with two 30 hp submersible wells. Water is tested monthly by the State Health Department and end-lines flushed regularly. Annual demand ranges from 30 000 gallons in winter to over 100 000 in summer. Financing came from a 290 000 FHA loan repayable over 40 years at 5 1/2 percent. Membership costs include a 100 dollar fee plus line installation, with rates for tiered usage.
