Wimberley Cemetery RootsTracing in Hays County History
A long historical summary traces the land grant of 1280 acres to Amasa Turner via J Pinkney Henderson, with William R Baker later conveying parcels to settlers who built a church and school. It details the Wimberley Cemetery site on Cypress Creek, early teachers, the 1876 public school reorganization, the 1883 fire, and the 1947 gift of land to trustees for the cemetery. It notes William W Moon, San Marcos founder, and family burials transitioning to the Wimberley Cemetery.
