North Hays County EMS Plan Aims for Emergency Service
A proposed North Hays County Emergency Medical Service System will handle only emergency transports by ambulance with a $45 emergency run fee and 50 cents per mile. Non-emergent moves will be advised to use other means. The plan expects 1 run per day per 10,000 people, with 5 percent emergency, 30 percent changing status, and 65 percent non serious. An operating cost of 67 cents per capita annually is projected, with a 90 percent collection goal and EMT training starting soon. Donations are requested to support the project.
