Katherine Meyer of Wimberley was named Duchess of the Luling Watermelon Thump for June 24 to 26. She is sponsored by the Wimberley Chamber of Commerce and will be a senior at Hays High School. She won a district first in shorthand in UIL competition and is escorted by Duke Charles R. Morrison III.
