Dr Rogers W R Rogers D D plans new medical offices behind Hill Country Superette in Wimberley targeting late April. UT Austin BA 1970 psychology major and DO 1974 Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine. Formerly in Grand Junction Colorado ER Committee chair and family medicine obstetrics gynecology practice.
Martin and Carma Luker of Austin take over Luker The Wimberley Pharmacy formerly Frank's Prescription Pharmacy. Hours shift for two to three weeks from 1 pm to 7 pm weekdays and 8 am to 6 pm Saturdays. Martins background includes UT Pharmacy degree 1954, Air Force pilot service, Bray Jordan management, and Texas Rehabilitation Commission supervisor. Carma, a Central Texan from Giddings, has taught art and attended UT. Their daughter Julie Bredeth studies flute at Music School.
Adelia Scudder presents lines from M F Johnson of Sabine Ranch about April in Wimberley Texas and references poems by Burfine Johnson of Halifax Ranch. The piece notes Blue April and Blue Mist blossoms, sage in the hills, and themes of renewal despite loss.
Community events fill April as Wimberley clubs meet at Dinner Bell Woodcreek and Twin Mt Manor. Home Demonstration Club and Lions Club schedules plus Sunrise service and pancake breakfast appear. A 1966 poem honors Halifax Ranch and Jacob De Cordova is noted in local lore.
