Rowayton Arts Center A Corridor Of Creative Growth
The Rowayton Arts Center founded in 1960 by Arno Scheiding William Gray Schaefer and Don Craig grew from a volunteer gallery above 101 Rowayton Avenue to a modern space at 145 Rowayton Avenue. It hosts monthly exhibitions and classes with about 15 upstairs workshops and a bustling calendar. The center reports 1996 membership at 543 and ongoing town collaboration including Memorial Day events and a revival of the Bal de tete costume party tradition.
