Fire gutted the Wilson Live Stock Company on Barnes street early today, destroying about sixty mules and horses and nine carloads of hay. Clark Live Stock Co building also damaged, Briggs hotel threatened, with total losses around forty mules and merchandise. Firemen prevented further spread. total estimated loss near 70 thousand dollars.

Vance Morgan, 25, Negro, was executed by electric chair at State Prison Raleigh at 10:30 am for the murder of Union county storekeeper Butler Funderburk. Three shocks ended his life after 108 seconds. Twelve other death row inmates joined hymns and prayers as Morgan walked to his fate.

Rideout And Hedgepeth Convicted In Manslaughter
D A Rideout and Bobbie Hedgepeth were found guilty of manslaughter in the killing of Alec Hedgepeth near a woods still last May. Judge Connor sentenced them to five to seven years in state prison with bonds set at 3500 each and thirty days to appeal. They remain jailed tonight.

Historic Flag Placed On Tomb Of Wilson
The historic American flag carried at the head of the first Contingent of U S troops to parade in London after America's entry in World War I is placed above Woodrow Wilson's tomb.
