Washington Nov 7 The commission appointed by President Coolidge to analyze farm problems will study farm legislation and administration of laws and promote farmer cooperation. The president spoke briefly but did not make recommendations, leaving all issues to the commission for examination and recommendations with government cooperation.
Fire after an explosion on a Lambert Transportation barge at State Island docks destroyed the barge and a steamship as gasoline cargo was being loaded. The captain on the barge was killed, a carpenter aboard the other ship is missing, and about a dozen others were injured. The blaze spread to the docks and neighboring vessels.
Mrs. Hannah Bridgers, age 112, died Friday morning in her Nahunta Township cabin. Surrounded by her faithful dog Danny, she reportedly was the oldest person in North Carolina.
The first annual UDC convention opens in Savannah with talks on Amsehandden education and the Jefferson Davis Highway. Mrs. Frank Harold of Americus outlines themes stressing heritage and the Constitution, noting about 10 000 members and 1125 chapters across 38 states.

The Battle Monument Commission led by General Pershing announces graves of Americans killed in France will be marked with white stone crosses, patterned after wartime wooden markers. Crosses will be permanent, arranged in fixed rows to preserve the sentiment and order.
In New York a cross examination reveals Lieut Roland Comfort drafted a letter to his in laws expressing a wish to bump off former Secretary of the Navy Josephus Daniels. Comfort testifies disloyalty claims by Mrs Comfort and asserts the writing was prompted by orders from the Navy secretary’s office causing a temporary separation from his wife after marriage.
William Codell aged 54 died while being taken to Goldsboro hospital after a car strike in Mount Olive. He was deaf dumb and blind.
In Sofia on November 17 a New York engineering firm proposed two key developments for Bulgaria. One plan would secure a plentiful, constant water supply to Sofia and the other would introduce American irrigation techniques to the dry plains of Tatar- Pazrdjik. The proposals received approval though questions remain about financial guarantees.

Practically 100 business and professional leaders signed a petition to extend the revival as pastors urge Sunday school attendance and open church doors for the 11 o clock service. Friday night saw the Rotary and Kiwanis join the invitation to Ham Ramsay to stay longer, with the tabernacle near full.
Berlin November 13 German motor cyclists have been admitted to the International Federation Motor Cycle Clubs according to a dispatch from the international headquarters at Paris The return is welcomed in Germany where motor cycling enjoys growing popularity and their prior exclusion had been felt keenly by the sport's enthusiasts
Freiburg reports that racy topics do not guarantee the year’s best sellers. The strongest seller is last year’s religious work “Mehr Freude” by Bishop Keppler, with 175000 copies in the first edition.
