North Carolina Agricultural Experiment Station Seeks Reader Input

The station, created by 1877 legislation, has distributed over a million bulletins on farming, funds its work from federal sources, and invites readers to submit agricultural questions. Monthly columns will cover announcements, summaries, inquiries and replies, and special articles with free bulletins available on request.

Organization of the North Carolina Experiment Station

The text lists staff including H. B. Battul as Director and State Chemist PE Emery and others across botanical, horticultural, meteorological, and agricultural roles. It outlines two general parts the Fertilizer Control Station and the Agricultural Experiment Station, plus divisions such as Executive Chemical Agricultural Botanical Entomological Horticultural and Meteorological, with publication division. It describes headquarters in Raleigh's Agricultural Building, facilities on the north wing and basement, and the meteorological division as the State Weather Service. The Experiment Farm lies about a mile and a half west of the city, near the State Agricultural Society and North Carolina College of Agriculture and Mechanic Arts, with dairy, silos, cattle, field tests, and plant houses, connected by telephone and near Hillsboro street electric car line.
