In Chippewa Falls Wisconsin seven people were killed with three missing and eight injured when the last coach of an eastbound Minneapolis Saint Paul and Saulte Ste Marie train plunged into the river. Rescue teams searched the submerged car as officials feared additional bodies remained trapped.
Kinston is awarded a franchise in the Virginia League with Petersburg and Lynchburg invited to join. Directors set a April 16 opening and September 12 close for 1925, reducing games to 126 or 129 and scheduling 18 or 19 Saturday games in Norfolk Richmond and Portsmouth. W. G. Five persons were killed and two injured when a tree fell across an automobile bus near Chehalis Washington. Emergency crews rushed to the scene as authorities investigated the cause of the accident reported in Tacoma today.
