Wilson County Commissioners Court chose not to renew several policies with Trident Insurance Services at the Sept. 24 meeting. Insurance agent Frank Pruski cited Midwest and South weather as prompting a carrier change and said One Beacon Insurance will cover law enforcement, officials, liability, and building losses.

Kyle Ferguson a 17 year old from La Vernia was arrested after police found heroin and drug paraphernalia in a Honda Accord during a Sept 12 search following information received Sept 11. He is charged with possession of less than a gram of a controlled substance enhanced due to the vehicle being within 1000 feet of a school campus. He remains in Wilson County Jail with potential penalties of two to 10 years and a fine up to 10000 dollars.
