Evergreen plans growth as regional water district expands
Evergreen Underground Water Conservation District, based in Pleasanton with offices in Jourdanton, approved a 93 000 budget increase and raised its property tax rate to 1.73 cents per 100 valuation. The district, servicing four counties, plans a new headquarters at the industrial park and to hire a hydrologist for aquifer modeling. The 2000-2001 budget totals 676 800, up from 584 100 last year, and includes a 100 000 building loan and a 53 300 grant reduction for weather modification efforts.
