Trail Riders Homecoming Draws Large La Vernia Crowd
Labor Day Weekend 1977 brought a large turnout for La Vernia Trail Riders Homecoming with a parade dance rodeo and sausage supper. Floyde McOskwa Rev Kurt Hartman and Teena Urban led events while floats from San Antonio Seguin and Leon Valley competed. Local and regional trail bosses and queens attended, including Joe Fitzman Jeanie Moczygemba Bobby Haytt Rene Riedel Jana Wheat Lori Lott and Sherilyn Walthall. Continuous weekend activities featured contests fiddlers games and kiddie rides.

Commissioners Hire CPA Firm for County Audit
On August 22 1977 the Commissioners Court approved hiring Crouch and Schultz CPAs to audit all county offices. They will review funds and compliance with state and federal regulations and make recommendations for discrepancies. Audit to start about October 1.
