Judge Quinney warned derailment would be a setback as the county commissioners voted three to one to contribute 24000 to a nonprofit economic development organization. Lopez abstained from voting and no further budget actions were taken at the workshop.
A new Floresville La Leche League chapter will meet monthly on the second Mondays at 7 p.m. starting Sept. 11 in Wilson Memorial Hospital basement conference room. It offers a lending library and telephone support for mothers, with Susan reachable at 830-216-2029.
The St. Anthony's Senior Center held a bunco event on August 17 with 19 players. First place went to Mary Casanova, second to Alvin and Frances Schimcek, with Francisco Murillo as booby prize and Frances McKay as consolation. A domino tournament on August 23 saw Bud Wilkerson and David Reno take first, Fred Gallegos and Polo Garcia second, and Evelyn Pennartz and Gussie Stalla third.
