East Central ISD trustees set a 1.59 per 100 assessed valuation tax rate, two cents higher than last year. Aiming to fund a 2000 2001 budget of 66.33 million, the levy raises the average home bill by 72.10, with 62.31 from higher appraisals and 8.89 from the rate hike. Maintenance consumes 1.47, debt service 0.12 per dollar, and the district plans new construction staffing and portable classrooms to handle growth.
