The seventh annual Lonesome Dove Fest runs September 22 23 at the Karnes County Show Barn on U S 181 between Karnes City and Kenedy. Youth Day September 22 offers firearm safety bird-dog training fish and game management and hunting demos for hundreds of area students. Proceeds support Karnes County youth and communities with more than 70 exhibitors and activities including chuck wagon cooking wagon rides taxidermy and a Victoria Zoo visit.
Registration for PeeWee and newly certified YABA bowling leagues will be held 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday September 9 at Eagle Lanes. Ages 3 to 21 are invited. those unable to attend can email a form by 5 p.m. September 9.
