Payton Nicole Bernhardt four from Floresville won her division at Splashtown San Antonio becoming overall winner and earning Most Beautiful Hair. She heads to Western Wear in October and later state finals in April in San Antonio with costume by her great grandmother.

Floresville Knights award $2600 in scholarships
The Floresville Knights of Columbus Council 6641 and the Ladies Auxiliary together awarded $2,600 in scholarships to four Floresville High School graduates. Kimberly Polasek received $1,000 from two $500 scholarships. Ryan Trevifi o earned $800 in two scholarships. Gregory Felux and Brianne Pelech received $500 and $300 respectively from the auxiliary.

Klespies Receives Honorary Life Membership in Texas
Ray Klespies of Floresville earned Honorary Life Membership in the Vocational Agriculture Teachers Association of Texas for service to agricultural science and education. He retired this year from Floresville High School. The award was given at the Professionals Development Conference on Aug 1 in Corpus Christi. The association, based in Austin, supports over 1 500 agricultural teachers impacting more than 108 000 secondary students.
