Health insurers decline bids press county policy renewals
Wilson County commissioners met October 22 and accepted only one bid for fiscal 2013 health coverage after Aetna UnitedHealthcare Nippon Life and TAC declined to bid. Humana offered the sole quote with monthly costs dropping from 797.51 to 757 per employee while deductibles stay at 1500. The county will continue with Humana and preserve the existing policy terms.

S H 130 extension opens Central Texas toll road
Segments 5 and 6 of S H 130 open to traffic Wednesday October 24 with two weeks of free travel. The 41 mile route links Mustang Ridge through Travis Caldwell and Guadalupe counties to I 10 near Seguin joining Georgetown to South Austin. The toll system is fully automated with electronic tags or mailed bills. Auto rate is about 15 cents per mile for cars and two axle trucks.
