San Antonio Alzheimer’s Support Group Formed
A new Alzheimer's support group chapter in San Antonio will meet monthly. The group is free for families of those with Alzheimer’s disease, led by Nella Huffman LSW, in Floresville at the Frank M. Tejeda Texas State Veterans Home training room. Next meeting is Nov 5 at 2 p.m. Call 830-216-9456 for details.

Women health fair offers free mammogram info in Jourdanton
A women's health fair and breast cancer awareness day will occur Saturday October 18 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at South Texas Regional Medical Center Jourdanton. Blood pressure diabetes testing and refreshments will be provided with sessions on free or low cost mammograms breast self exams and general women's health. Representative Ciro D Rodriguez will discuss relevant legislation at 11 a.m. The public is invited.

Candlelight Vigil Honors 117 Women Murdered in 2002
The Wilson County Violence Against Women Program hosts a candlelight vigil for 117 women killed by domestic violence in 2002. It starts at 7 p.m. Sunday Oct. 19 at the Wilson County Sheriff's Department on U S 181 in Floresville. Deputy Jennifer Fernandez can be reached at 830 393 2535.
