Jury awards 5.75 million in nursing home case

A Travis County jury found Country Care Manor negligent in hiring 16 year old intern Charles Moorhead who sexually assaulted an 82 year old Alzheimer patient at the facility. The verdict awards the family 1.75 million in actual damages and 4 million in exemplary damages. The nursing home plans an appeal.

Floresville Wins New Chrysler Dealership Expansion

About 40 to 50 new jobs will be created when a Chrysler Dodge Jeep dealership opens near Floresville at the U S 181 and Business 181 intersection. The 20,000 square foot facility on seven acres will include a service center and 700 square feet of vehicle display frontage. Groundbreaking is Oct 12 with operations planned by April.
