La Vernia, 1986 District 31-2A champions, defeated Three Rivers 23 to 7 in Bi-District play in Jourdanton. Bryan Gerlich ran for two scores and 107 yards on 17 carries, Troy Pollok added a touchdown reception, Mark Scrimpsher kicked a 37-yard field goal, and La Vernia earned 18 first downs and 310 total yards to Three Rivers’ 150. They advance to meet Mason in Fredericksburg at 8:00 p.m. Friday in regional playoffs.
