Floresville City Council voted 4 to 1 to terminate Lorenzo Herrera after a two month outside investigation. The council cited policy violations and lack of confidence in the chief, with City Manager Andy Joslin presenting findings to the open meeting. Herrera’s attorney said they had not seen the report until handed a copy.
U S district judge Xavier Rodriguez dismissed without prejudice the civil suit filed by Jasper McDonald against 81st Judicial District Attorney Audrey Louis and Investigator Roland Trevisio alleging conspiracy to block his peace officer employment. The ruling left intact the due process claim dismissed with prejudice and gave McDonald until Nov 16 to amend. Louis cited a 2005 30 day suspension tied to a falsified report placing McDonald on the Brady list.
