The FEDC reviewed a medical park plan by B&A Architects allocating 11 acres for a 60 000 square foot hospital and 30 000 square foot professional building with room for six more offices. A 300 acre municipal business park was also approved in financing terms after cautious projections.
Elmendorf council majority endorses developers plan to install a sewer line serving envisioned Dickie Clay and Blue Lake subdivisions. SAWS official says developers would finance the line and future residents may connect if capacity allows. New water supervisor hired. two raises approved, one denied.
The Floresville Senior Citizens Center held a domino tournament on April 10 with Edgar Fisbeck and Fred Gallegos taking first, Victor and Velma Jasik second, and Sylvia Bench with Mary McClosky third. A banco party followed on April 17. Henry Stalla won in games and Virginia Dziuk was runner up, Evelyn Pennartz led chances, with Carolina Carvajal and Viola Brown receiving other recognitions. A bingo event on April 26 led to further discussion about sewage and drainage projects for Elmendorf. council debated, with votes on a sewer line at no cost to the town and pay raises for City Secretary Sylvia Dominguez and maintenance man Larry Casanova. James Briggs sought a raise while on probation. council later scheduled a vote recount for May 5, with results to be announced after 6 p.m.
The La Vernia city council met for about ten minutes to confirm May 5 election results, table water and sewer lines in Silverado Hills unit 2, and appoint Irene Lussy as court clerk. A developer must prove unit 1 taxes are paid and roads repaired before accepting unit 2 utilities.
