A group of Pandora residents condemned the Ecolete Creek Reservoir idea and urged Wilson County officials to take a stand against it. County Judge Marvin Quinney cautioned that data must be complete before action. Generations of Wilson County ranchers did business at Union Stock Yards since 1889 at 1716 S. San Marcos St. in downtown San Antonio. The abrupt closure surprised some tenants, though many farmers anticipated the end as commerce declined.
Local offices announced candidates who filed for the May 5 elections in Wilson northern Karnes and southern Bexar counties. Early voting runs April 18 through May 1 with polls 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Election day polls open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. March 21 is filing deadline with write-in acceptances through March 26 at 5 p.m. An asterisk marks incumbents.
