A state arson investigator aided Wilson County Sheriff’s Department in the Sutherland Springs fires. Two 18 year old volunteers, Paul Zigmond Jr. and Shawn Rathburn, were charged with arson and jailed on 20000 bonds.
The Path City Council plans to send reps to a panel to calm the FELPS dispute among Stockdale and Floresville over the electrical system. An FELPS official warned of potential summer blackouts if the main substation transformer fails, while the council criticizes the ongoing legal fight hindering financing for needed upgrades.
At a council meeting Maeckel urged backing the majority owner Floresville in a 1993 restructuring push that would add a third Floresville seat on FELPS’ five member board. The current lineup includes two Floresville reps, FELPS’ general manager, and one other member.
