City bans senior citizen from council meetings
Floresville residents witnessed a 70 year old woman, Deci Murphy, escorted from a June 21 Floresville City Council special meeting after a criminal trespass warning was issued. Murphy claimed she only asked questions about Castillo’s banking background and audits. Local businessman Jim Miller criticized the action as an intimidation of a citizen’s right to participate in local government. Police said Murphy could be told not to return following an incident at a prior meeting. The city manager had not commented by press time.
