The Floresville Downtowners Association met to set priorities focused on group advertising and promotions. They invite participation from all area individuals and businesses and will partner with Extension Services to offer business seminars. The next workshop is scheduled for September and they seek area input.
The La Vernia Christian Bookstore will close on Mondays during July and August. It will also be closed the week of June 30 through July 5 for vacation and wishes customers a safe and happy summer.
Rose Realty marks a decade of service in La Vernia with eight current staff members. Owner Ron Rose began the office in 1976 with wife Karen handling books. Since 1984 the office expanded to present size and services include farms and ranches across several Texas counties.
The 42nd Annual Stockdale Watermelon Jubilee runs June 19–21 with a Coronation on Thursday at Stockdale High School Auditorium. Jubilee Queen and Duchess, Little Miss and Little Mister Stockdale, rodeo events, dances, parade marshal Debora Daniels, and multiple entertainment acts are planned.
Floresville Chamber of Commerce announces its Member of the Week feature on page 3 highlighting a local business leader and their contributions to the community. The spotlight recognizes ongoing service, business impact, and community engagement.
Floresville voters can cast ballots for the best park name at downtown Floresville businesses. Ryan Kelley of Floresville Main Street Development says downtown park cleanup has begun with improvements slated to finish by Heritage Week Celebrations on July 6.
