Three Oaks VFD Deploys New One-Ton Fire Truck
Three Oaks Volunteer Fire Department added a one-ton four-wheel drive pickup from the Texas Forest Service in October 1995. The vehicle features a 300-gallon tank, pump, 100-foot hose reel, and brush guard. Chief Randy Ortmann installed the tank and reel and oversaw service. In about two months it has responded to seven fires along with the large brush truck, boosting capacity and response speed.
