Floresville's economic development board directs staff to help Texaloy Foundry locate a nearby site and consider Stockdale as a possibility. FEDC backs the chamber plan to develop north side land as a tourist center, sending the issue to the city council. A second bid round for American Legion park tennis courts failed to meet the 44000 budget. Mayor Gary Pelech will seek technical input from Floresville ISD and prepare a plan for the FEDC next month.

Fatal crash near Stockdale injures two others
A two vehicle collision near Stockdale Sunday afternoon left 75 year old Joseph F. Keller of Floresville dead at the scene. Eloy Davila Jr. 39 of Wimberley drove a northbound pickup that struck Keller’s westbound Oldsmobile. Passenger Gilbert Guerrero 38 of San Marcos was airlifted to University Hospital, San Antonio, in stable condition with internal injuries. Davila was treated and released. EMS and Stockdale fire units responded.

Thursday evenings meeting will abolish the two man police department fire city secretary and hire a city administrator while approving Laredo Santerra subdivision hookup to a municipal water line. City secretary Alda Martinez says rumors of firing all staff were anticipated and termination cited as loss of confidence. Termination takes effect at 11 59 p m with a temporary city secretary to be hired at the meeting.
