Seren McKenzie of Floreevele died Saturday July 15 2000 at age 103 years 9 months and 3 days. She was born October 12 1896 in Fairview to Eva Carver and Sam McKenzie and married Herbert P Thulemeyer in 1918. The Thulemeyer family ran a farm and Seren worked as a teacher bank cashier and bank president and operated Thulemeyer Insurance. She was active in VFW in Schertz in school and community affairs and Democratic politics and attended Floresville Baptist Church. Funeral July 18 in Floresville with interment at Floresville City Cemetery. Pallbearers listed. Surviving daughter Frann Thulemeyer McMurry and granddaughter Kay McMurry Barbour.
