Wilson County seeks 12 mile adjustment in road mileage
Wilson County Commissioner Wayne Stroud says the state mileage report undercounts his precinct by 12 miles, costing about 27700 dollars. The commission delayed final approval to allow a Stroud field check, then approved the report pending his survey. The panel also advanced three grants totaling nearly 300000 for water system upgrades and library equipment, and endorsed a 611000 grant for La Vernia drainage fixes with in kind help from the San Antonio River Authority. A rural burn ban was discussed as wildfire danger rises, with rules for agricultural and residential burning and mandatory prior notice to the county health office.
